Loft at Liberty Village apartment in Toronto: Jaymz Bee has moved into the second since January four months ago-
Floor rental loft in free village, Toronto.
The building dates back to the 1920 s and used to be a warehouse but was converted into residential space about 20 years ago.
Busy Bee is a musician and host of Toronto jazz radio.
FM91, record producer, concert promoter, label owner, band conductor of the Royal Jelly Orchestra, and author of a book about the ubiquitous cocktail party. . .
Series of dummies.
His latest CD for the Royal Jelly Orchestra at the Toronto launch pad is available online via iTunes (itunes. ca)
Or at timelia Manor. ca.
Seeing him is to understand why this is only a bit of gorgeous Bee\'s favorite souvenir is a set of armor that stands in the middle of his living room.
Q: Why do you have a set of armor?
I got it from my father.
It\'s supposed to be a man, but I think it\'s a woman, so I call her Joan.
My dad showed it as a window in his men\'s clothing store in his 70 s.
This reminds me of my childhood.
My father used to wear it and walk down the street to get business.
I love my dad, it reminds me of him.
Q: What attracted you to this attic?
A: Very close to my work on radio stations and nightclubs, I like the openness of this space.
It has 12 sunny windows.
The last thing was that when I came to see the place, I realized that I knew half the people who lived in the building.
I \'ve been meeting with my neighbors, and they\'re all people I used to know.
Q: What does it look like?
A: almost all the walls are white and the floor is blue
Gray laminate for carpet throughout the area.
The right side of the entrance is the dining space, which is open to the living area and has a large wood bending strip painted in silver and can also be used as a DJ booth.
The kitchen is on the left of the entrance.
The back is the master bedroom and a big walk-in closet-
All the storage spaces are painted in the blue of the ocean.
There are two sets of stairs in the attic.
The stairs on the right lead to an office.
The room was filled with games, hammocks and fake plants.
The one on the left takes you to the room.
On the wall near the stairs, I asked artist Thanne Kilner to paint a landscape mural of the sunset that reminded her of India-
Where is she from--
It reminds me of my hometown North Bay.
Q: What is the guest room?
I like to stay in guest rooms because I have friends from all over the world.
So now I can really offer luxury goods to my guests.
There is a door to the room for privacy. There\'s a wide-
Queen\'s TV screen
Size of bed and sofa.
Against the Wall is a table with lava lamps.
On the wall is a mural of the late jazz trumpeter Miles Davis album cover \"Spanish sketch\" drawn by the last tenant.
This is a beautiful piece of art.
Q: Where do you like to hang out?
My living room.
In addition to Joan, there is a large piano, sofa, a hanging wicker chair, a multi-color mat from Korea and a white recliner with a golden accent.
There is a low coffee table with a modern silver light on it and psychedelic fabric on it.
I also have a favorite decoration. -a glass-
The top table bought at a real estate auction for the late entertainment entrepreneur Gino epry.
It reminds me of him when I look at it.
Q: Is there any decoration you don\'t like?
A: When I was young, my house was burned down and I lost everything I had.
So I try not to rely too much on objects. (May 5, 2007)
