mamata banerjee to have wooden chairs in office chamber
With austerity becoming a buzzword on the corridor of the writer\'s building, the cushion chair in the official chamber of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has become wooden and the floor will have no plush carpet.
Under Banerjee\'s instructions, the state PWD personnel thoroughly checked her room today with new ceilings, compact fluorescent lamps, cream-colored walls and all wooden chairs to make it
The whole work was done under the direct supervision of PWD secretary AR Burman, while Banerjee\'s close assistant Ratan Mukherjee visited the chamber after the work was completed.
A total of eight wooden chairs were placed in the chamber, including the chair of the chief minister.
Burman said that the entire floor in the chamber had been covered with carpets earlier and that, according to the chief minister\'s choice, the carpet had been removed.
However, the table that was previously placed did not change.
